From Reactive to Relaxed

Meet Luna

Luna is a six-year-old Jack Russell who came to us with severe reactivity toward other dogs. Her behaviour included lunging, barking, and clear signs of stress when seeing other dogs while out walking.

The Training Approach

Over six weekly sessions, we used only positive, reward-based training methods to help Luna. Rather than simply stopping the reactivity, we focused on changing her emotional response to other dogs and common outdoor triggers.

Luna’s Progress

✅ Luna can now walk calmly past unfamiliar dogs

✅ She relaxes in busy areas like pub gardens

✅ She ignores distractions like birds and people

Ongoing Work

While Luna occasionally still reacts, particularly to dogs that lunge or run out unexpectedly, this happens far less often. Her reactivity is now manageable, and her confidence has grown immensely.

Luna’s journey is a shining example of how patience, consistency, and reward-based methods can transform a dog’s life. Training is still ongoing, but she’s well on her way to being a confident, happy companion.​​
