BREED GUIDE

YOUR DOODLE PUPPY

Labradoodles and Goldendoodles are a retriever crossed with a Poodle, and they come in standard, medium and mini sizes. You're getting two clever working breeds in one, so a Doodle puppy is friendly, bouncy and quick to learn, and needs a plan for their mouth, their greetings and that coat.

WHAT I'D START IN THE FIRST WEEKS

GREETINGS

FOUR PAWS ON THE FLOOR

Doodles want to say hello to the world. Give fuss only when all four paws are on the floor, drop treats on the floor, and have everyone in the house doing the same thing every time.

THE MOUTH

GIVE THE RETRIEVER A JOB

The retriever side loves to carry. Keep chews and toys handy, teach a swap for anything they shouldn't have, and give the toy back most of the time.

THE COAT

GROOMING STARTS NOW

That coat needs brushing and clipping for life. Handle paws, ears and face gently from day one with a treat for every touch, and keep sessions short.
